Comedy : Mick Molloy ready to hit Darwin with Jeff Stillson and Glenn Robbins
Mick Molloy is one of the stalwarts of Australian Comedy. Mick performed a live show at the Darwin Entertainment Centre in October.
Mick has had a stellar career in Australian Comedy with numerous television and movie credits complementing his live performances.
The Territory Regional Weekly spoke to Mick ahead of his Darwin Show. We started by asking the Crackerjack Comedian about what it was like to work with Jeff Stillson and long time collaborator Glenn Robbins.
Mick said "It is great to work with someone like Glenn who you have have known for such a long time. I think audiences will also really enjoy Jeff's work. He is porbably lesser known than myself or Glenn, but I am sure that people will really enjoy his part of the show."
We asked if it was stil exciting performing live. Mick said
" Definitely. If it isn't a buzz then you probably wouldn't perform very well. There are particular gags that work really well on certain crowds and you need to know your audience."
We asked Mick about this years AFL Grand Final. Mick said " As a Richmond supporter I am forced to watch other people teams play off in the Grand Final. I went to the game this year as I usually do. I have bought a house near the ground now so it is not far to go. It was an excellent game this year."
We asked what people could expect from the Darwin Show. Mick said "I think people will really enjoy the show. Glenn will host the show and Jeff and I will be doing a spot each. There will be a question and answer session after the show which gives the audience a chance to become involved."
We asked Mick about young comedians on the rise Mick said. " There are some great young comedians coming through at the moment. Both for live performing and for television."
